It’s been 2+ years and counting since I started piano lessons with Ryan and his ability to keep each lesson engaging despite only online is unparalleled. I came to Ryan as an adult student desiring to re-learn piano simply as a pandemic hobby to utilize time, but through his teachings and passion, it has inspired me to pursue piano further.
His patience and ability to break down concepts in an understandable way makes him one of the best instructors I’ve had to this day. Additionally his knowledge in music is terrifyingly vast. He’s able to cater lessons to musical interests, history, and theory on the spot. Beyond highly recommending him as an instructor, I would use him on your trivia team.

Piano StudentI really enjoy your energy and the way you’re able to simplify things for a beginner like me – and your tech set up is unmatched which really makes the virtual aspect much less of a barrier.

Piano StudentMy reintroduction into the seemingly unending and infinitely fruitful journey of piano by your hands is by far the most profitable event of my recent life. The growth I’ve experienced is invaluable. It’s given greater meaning to my life and relationships. I can never be thankful enough.

Piano StudentMy favorite thing about August learning piano is the opportunity it provides for him to emote. He complains about having to practice (as you’d probably expect for a 10-year-old), but when he finally sits down at the piano, it usually relaxes him. Sometimes he’ll pound at the keys in frustration or if he’s tired, and I like to see that too.
Piano is providing him a great way to get his feelings out. I didn’t expect these emotional/mental health benefits of learning music, and I’m very happy for it.

Mother of August, 10Three years have passed, and my daughter is just as excited to play piano as she was when she first started. Ryan has managed to cultivate her enthusiasm for piano, and music at large over the years – not an easy task with a child. […] Watching my daughter grow in her musical acumen has been an incredibly rewarding thing to witness.

Father of Addie, 11He took our 8 year old son from an absolute beginner piano player to an intermediate player over a few years. Our son can now read music, easily improvise, and play through songs.
Beyond learning music out of the book our son requested help with various jingles, and video game/television songs. This openness has kept our son fully engaged.
